Posture Exercises for Seniors: Why They’re Needed

If you look around, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll see people over 50 who are sedentary, have lost muscle mass, and have poor posture. This is why posture exercises for seniors are needed.

Unless you’re actively working on maintaining good posture, or improving posture, posture tends to deteriorate with age. 

Some of the health risks associated with poor posture include heartburn, indigestion, incontinence, constipation. 

Poor posture can also lead to neck, shoulder, and back pain. 

We hear a lot about the importance of having a strong core.  When it comes to posture exercises for seniors, having a strong core will improve your posture. 

A strong core means all the muscles responsible for functions of the core are strong.  Your core should also have good flexibility or range of motion (ROM).

Posture exercises for seniors don’t require a lot of time and effort. Consistency is key.
